Animated promotional videos for Irish businesses
Most animated video production starts with a simple problem: you have something to sell, launch or announce, and a page of text is not getting it across. A short animated promotional video can show what you do in the time it takes someone to scroll past your homepage, and it keeps working on your website, in adverts and on social media long after the launch.
We are a Dublin studio producing animated video for businesses, public bodies and universities across Ireland. Clients include the HSE, University College Dublin, the University of Limerick and Benecol. This page covers promotional, marketing and campaign animation. For the full range, see video production in Ireland.
Animated marketing videos that get watched
A marketing video has seconds to earn attention, so the first line matters more than the last. We open on the problem your customer has, not on your logo, and we get to the point quickly. Most promotional videos we would recommend run between thirty seconds and ninety seconds, which is roughly 65 to 200 words of narration at about 130 words a minute.
They also have to work with the sound off. Most social video is watched silently, so key lines appear on screen as text and the story still makes sense without the voiceover. Our twenty second Benecol film was built entirely for silent screens and carries its whole message in type.
Website animation and homepage video
Website animation comes in two sizes. The smaller one is a short silent loop: a few seconds of movement in the header of your homepage or beside a service description, showing the product in use or the idea behind the service without anyone pressing play. We supply these as small, compressed video files that your web developer can drop into the page, with a still image for slow connections, so the animation adds life without slowing the site down.
The larger one is a proper video with a voiceover. A video on your homepage or a service page has a different job from an advert. The viewer is already interested and wants to understand what you offer and whether it is for them. That calls for a slightly longer, calmer explainer video: what the service is, who it suits, what happens next.
The University of Limerick recruitment film is a good example. Two minutes and twenty seconds on what the modern languages degrees involve and where they lead, made for prospective students and the parents sitting beside them at an open day.
Animated adverts and social media video
For paid social and online adverts we cut the same film several ways: a fifteen or thirty second version, square and vertical crops for feeds, Stories and Reels, and a still frame for the thumbnail. Building all of those from one animation costs far less than making each separately, and keeps the campaign consistent.
An animated logo at the start or end ties every version back to your brand.
Choosing the style
The style should come from the message, not from taste.

2D character animation puts people on screen and is the warmest choice when you want customers to recognise themselves.

Motion graphics animate type, icons and data with no characters, and suit software, finance and anything that should look clean and corporate.
Whiteboard animation draws the idea on screen and works well when the message has steps. 3D animation is the right call when the product itself is the point and people need to see it from every angle.
How we price animated video production
We quote from the final word count of your script, not from a duration you pick, because the script is what decides how long the video runs. The figure you are quoted is the figure you pay. Style, voiceover, music licensing, revision rounds and extra versions for social media all affect the price, and we list each one so you can see where the money goes.
Send us the script, or tell us what the video needs to do, and we will come back with a price and a timeline.
Frequently asked questions
How much does an animated video cost in Ireland?
Animation is quoted from the final script word count rather than a target duration, because the script decides the real length. Send the script and you get an exact price back.
How long will my video be?
Narration runs at roughly 130 words a minute, so a 300 word script is about two and a half minutes. If your target duration and your script do not match we will tell you before quoting rather than after.
Do you provide the voiceover?
Yes, professional voiceover is included in most packages, with a choice of voice. If you would rather supply your own recording we can work to that instead.
Can the video be produced in other languages?
Yes. Subtitles in another language, a native voiceover, or a fully rebuilt version with on screen text translated. Each is priced separately because they are very different amounts of work.
Who have you made animated videos for?
Public bodies, universities and brands, including the HSE, University College Dublin, the University of Limerick and Benecol. Examples are on our work page.
How long does an animated video take?
A short video takes two to three weeks. Longer pieces depend on script sign off and the number of revision rounds, and a schedule is agreed before starting.
