Vector

A vector is a type of digital graphic defined by mathematical equations and paths rather than a fixed grid of pixels. Vector graphics describe shapes as sets of points connected by lines and curves, with mathematical formulas determining how those curves behave. This means that a vector image can be scaled to any size — from a business card to a billboard — without any loss of quality, because the mathematics simply recalculates the positions and curves at the new scale. This is the fundamental reason why professional logos are created as vector artwork. Every major design software application used for logo design — Adobe Illustrator, Affinity Designer, CorelDRAW — works with vector graphics. Formats including AI, EPS, SVG, and PDF can contain vector data. When a client or supplier needs the logo files, vector formats are always the primary deliverables, with raster formats (PNG, JPEG) provided as supplementary formats for specific digital applications.
