SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics)

SVG, or Scalable Vector Graphics, is a vector image format designed for use on the web. Unlike raster formats such as PNG and JPEG, SVG files are text-based XML documents that describe shapes, paths, and colours mathematically, meaning they scale to any size without loss of quality. SVG files are small in file size, can be animated with CSS or JavaScript, can be styled dynamically, and can be indexed by search engines. For logos used on websites, SVG is increasingly the preferred format because it ensures perfect sharpness on high-resolution (retina) displays, loads quickly, and can be integrated directly into HTML. SVG files can be opened and edited in vector design software such as Adobe Illustrator or Inkscape. As the web has become the dominant distribution platform for visual content, SVG has grown in importance and is now a standard delivery format in any professional logo suite.
