Rebrand
A rebrand is the process of refreshing or completely overhauling a brand's visual identity. Rebrands can range from minor evolutionary updates — refining the existing logo, modernising the colour palette, updating the typography — to full revolutionary transformations that replace every aspect of the existing identity with something entirely new. Rebrands are typically driven by significant changes in a company's strategy, ownership, market position, or competitive environment: a merger or acquisition, entry into new markets, a shift in target audience, the need to shed negative associations, or simply the recognition that an identity has become dated and no longer represents where the business is today. Successful rebrands balance the need for change with the value of existing brand equity — the recognition and associations built up over time. Going too far risks losing recognition; not going far enough fails to signal meaningful change.
