Path
In vector graphics, a path is a line defined by anchor points and curves. Paths are the fundamental building blocks of vector artwork: every shape, letterform, and graphic element in a vector logo is composed of one or more paths. A path can be open (with distinct start and end points, like a line or arc) or closed (forming a complete, enclosed shape, like a circle or rectangle). Paths can be stroked (given a visible outline) or filled (given a solid interior colour), or both. The path is to vector design what the pixel is to raster design — the elemental unit from which everything is constructed. Understanding how paths work, and how to create, edit, and manipulate them efficiently, is foundational to professional logo design. The quality of paths in a finished logo — their smoothness, efficiency, and precision — is one of the clearest indicators of a designer's technical skill.
