One-Colour Logo

A one-colour logo is a version of a logo rendered in a single flat colour — no gradients, no multiple colours, no transparency effects. One-colour logos are essential for a wide range of practical applications: spot colour printing, screen printing on fabric, rubber stamping, embossing, laser engraving, and any other process where only a single ink or imprint colour is available. Every logo should be designed to work effectively in one colour, and brand guidelines should specify approved one-colour versions. This typically means providing the logo in solid black, solid white, and in the primary brand colour. A logo that only works in its full multi-colour version has significant practical limitations and will be problematic in many real-world applications. Designing with one-colour constraints in mind from the outset typically results in a stronger, more versatile design.
