Logo Variations
Logo variations are the different approved versions of a logo designed for specific use cases. A single logo design almost never functions as a single fixed image; instead, it exists as a system of variations, each optimised for different contexts. Common variations include a full-colour primary version, a single-colour black version, a single-colour white (reversed) version, a one-colour version in the primary brand colour, a horizontal lockup, a vertical or stacked lockup, and a standalone icon or submark. Some brands also maintain simplified or outlined versions for use in contexts with limited production capabilities, such as embroidery or screen printing. Logo variations are not different logos — they share the same core design, concept, and visual language. They exist to ensure that the logo always looks its best regardless of the constraints of any particular application. Defining and providing logo variations is a core part of professional logo design delivery.
