Hex Code

A hex code, or hexadecimal colour code, is a six-character alphanumeric code used to specify exact colours in digital and web design. The code begins with a hash symbol (#) followed by six characters from the range 0–9 and A–F. The six characters are divided into three pairs, each representing the intensity of the red, green, and blue channels respectively on a scale from 00 (minimum intensity) to FF (maximum intensity). For example, #FF0000 is pure red, #0000FF is pure blue, and #FFFFFF is white. Hex codes are the primary way colours are specified for websites, digital advertising, and digital applications. They provide exact, unambiguous colour specifications that can be reproduced consistently across digital environments. For logo design, hex codes are listed in brand guidelines alongside CMYK values for print and Pantone references for spot colour printing, ensuring that the brand's colours are reproduced consistently regardless of the production method.
